All of you have truly inspired me and reminded me of the verse “It is more blessed to give than to receive” Acts 20:35. I love reading your emails of your faith, passion and perseverance that have allowed you to achieve acts of kindness toward others that go unnoticed everyday.
Today all over the country people will show love and kindness to others less fortunate than themselves. You all have reached out to neighbors and friends, feed the homeless, fixed meals for the elderly, and the list goes on and on.
These random acts of kindness are good for all souls.
A GLIMPSE OF ONE GROUP SERVING WELL - WEST DALLAS OUTREACH
For the last 14 years Earlene and Gregg Jones have organized and implemented the outreach to feed the elderly and homebound of West Dallas. The West Dallas Outreach is a ministry of West Dallas Community Church.
They have worked countless hours with other men and women to prepare and cook Thanksgiving meals for over 700 Seniors living in West Dallas.
At 6:00AM Thanksgiving morning groups of volunteers cut pies, loaded trays full of food and delivered meals to over 700 people that may not get a Thanksgiving meal. West Dallas Outreach is thankful for the help of North Texas Food Bank, Central Market, Clearwater Church, West Dallas Community Church, Steve Harvey Morning Show and many volunteers.
As we remember all that we are thankful for this Thanksgiving, I am inspired by Brene Brown’s Daily Gratitude Practice.
